Mountain trip

This weekend has been so much fun and so needed. We left Friday morning and headed to the mountains on a smaller lake above Lake Lure. The kids were so excited. I think Zoe asked me if we were there yet maybe only 20 times on the way up. We ended up finding a restaurant with possibly the worst food ever. It was so disgusting it was comical that this was even a restaurant. We more than made up for it the rest of the trip because all we have been doing is eating some great food! When we got here the kids and I ran around everywhere checking out this amazing home. It is beautiful with views of mountains and lake... My dream! Not too long after we were here the Bradley's pulled up with groceries. The girls were excited to see their little boy Myles. Since it was raining the girls opted out for bathing suits and played in the rain and puddles for most of the afternoon while Tim and John worked on putting a gas grill together for the owner of the property. Ty was content crawling all over the huge screened in porch while Amanda and I sipped on some coffee. Not too long after that we started our big pot of spaghetti. Once we finished and cleaned up after my messy kids we went to the water to let them fish a bit. Amanda caught a fish and that was all the girls needed to feel like they had done something. Once we got these tired kiddos to bed the four adults played phase 10 until after midnight. Of course we had the fireplace going, complete with the country music with plenty of wine and chocolate milk:)
Zoe was up early as usual so me and her had the normal snuggle time except this time there was a fire in the fireplace. It was chilly outside but the girls didn't care and had their bathing suits on before lunch. They loved swimming in the hot tub, paddle boating, fishing, and halfway enjoyed the water trampoline. That night Tim grilled steaks for all of us. Once the sun started to set we let all the kids roast marshmallows and eat s'mores. When they had all had enough and the meltdowns started we put them all to bed. We ended the night with all four of us in the hot tub talking about God, kids, land, and farming. Everyone had a great time.
